Obituary- Thiru Vairavan Chettiar
Long term Bradfordian Thiru Vairavan Chettiar died peacefully today (30/7/23) at his family home in Bradford. He has been living in Bradford since 1972.Jason, as he was called at work , was very helpful to others. He had a passion for teaching Maths and helped many GCSE students achieve high grades.He was a Murugan devotee and loved visiting Skandavale Ashram at Wales. He liked to help others. Tamil students who came to study at Bradford University in the 90's will definitely get an invite to dine at his home. He is survived by his wife, 2 children and 4 grand children. Yorkshire Tamil Friends offer condolence and support to the bereaved family.Om shanthi.

I had only few few occasions to spend time with Vairavan uncle during my stay in Shipley, still I remember those day vividly. He was sharing his experience of coming to UK and his military days. Very inspiring. It's sad to lose him and not just at my individual self but as a community as well we will miss Vairavan uncle a lot. I am happy to see he had a very meaningful and great life. My thought and prayers are with his family now. May his soul rest in peace
